The story of the emergence of hotels
The history of hotels originates in ancient times. The first hotels were taverns, references to which can be found in the manuscripts of ancient Greece and ancient Rome. Travels in those distant times were long, the speed of movement was small, and unfamiliar lands dangerous. Travelers willingly paid for any roof over their heads, where they could take a rest along the way. Demand, as you know, gives rise to supply, and inns began to grow like mushrooms on main roads. It does not take several centuries, as inns are segmented by the level of service. Appear such where the person cannot stop without the special document confirming his high status.
Inn
Often there was a phenomenon when rich people with extensive possessions built inns for personal use, where no one was allowed to go.
Ordinary taverns and inns often used notoriety as sinful places. Accordingly, the contingent of such institutions was not rich, which was reflected in the level of income of the owners and, naturally, at the level of comfort. It turned out a certain vicious circle, which increasingly aggravated the authority of the inns.
The situation with the notoriety of inns and taverns has not changed dramatically for many centuries. And only a few centuries ago, at the end of the 18th century, something quite strikingly different from an inn and resembling a modern hotel appeared in the USA. In 1794, the City Hotel was opened in New York. After 30 years in Boston opened a hotel, where there were 70 rooms, corridor, reception, locks on the doors and free soap. From now on, hotels and hotels are increasingly acquiring features familiar to modern people, developing their traditions, and fighting for the quality of service.
In the XIX century, hotels are built as palaces and equipped with the most modern amenities. Nobody remembers the notoriety of inn houses. Despite the remaining large difference in the solvency of different types of guests, the minimum standard of service has already been raised to an unattainable height for medieval taverns.
By the beginning of the 20th century, a whole range of hotel business specialties appeared. Accordingly, there are professionals in their field. Appearing as a family business, hotel business is becoming more complex and spreading around the world.
Today, there are tens of thousands of hotels around the world, which are united in a network, work like a clock and bring huge incomes and joy to its guests.
